Shiatsu PhotoAbout Us

The Shiatsu School of Western Australia was founded in 1993. Since its establishment, the School runs educational programmes in Shiatsu from Introductory to Diploma level.

The Diploma Course is accredited by the Society for Natural Therapists & Researchers and the School is approved as a teaching establishment by the Australian Charter of Natural Health Practitioners.

All the teachers and staff at the School are committed to excellence in training and are professionals in their area of teaching.

Shiatsu PhotoIn the courses, students learn both the practical and theoretical aspects of Shiatsu, including the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The focus of all learning is on personal development as well as learning "technique", developing skills and understanding the principles and practices of Oriental Medicine. To this end, students learn, and are encouraged to practise meditation, specific exercises and body-awareness skills to enhance their practise of Shiatsu.

The School operates from premises in Bayswater, a few kilometres east of Perth. Facilities include rooms for classes and practise, as well as a Student Clinic. A kitchen area is available and a small library is used as a place of reference and research.
